Dirty Tricks
Using nginx and LUA to thwart bots and skript kiddies
This talk was first given at EuroBSDCon 2025 in Zagreb, Croatia.
Here you'll find the "slides" for this talk in various formats:
- ZIP with the original TheDraw .TD files (201KiB).
Includes THEPP.EXE to display them, and ANSI versions of each file. In DOS or a
DOS-like environment, invoke RUN.BAT to view the slides.
In *nix, use a tool like dos2ansi to view. Specify code page 850 in order to correctly render my name.
- PDF with the slides in image form (256KiB).
Converted from ANSI to PNG using ansilove -r -f 850, then into PDF using ImageMagick's convert.
- Bootable floppy image (1.44MiB).
Needs a computer with at least 2MB RAM. To use the more interesting features (DESQView multi-tasking),
a 386 or better is needed, though a 286 with the C&T SCAT chipset configured with at least 1MB EMS
may also work. Either way, 4MB RAM is needed.
Once booted, join me on IRC using the IRCJr client!
Enjoy!
