07/06/2001 Entry: "Link: Win3.x used more than Linux?"

This StatMarket article shows what operating systems are used for browsing. Interesting to note is that Windows 3.x, the 16bit horror, is used more often than Linux.

With my own personal experience, I think the reason for this could be one of several:

• Linux users have a hard time getting online (ppp0 interfacing is horrid, eth0 doesn't support @Home's DHCP. )
• Sane computer advocates use FreeBSD or another BSD-type system.
• This article is based on CLIENT systems, not server systems.

It was also interesting to see that OS/2 was listed.
