Hmmm...
I read up more and more about haiku's, and I think I have something worth publishing:

walking past her
fragrance alluring and sweet
momentary bliss

I wonder who this haiku is about...

There are some great haiku resources available on the internet, and it has been most recently considered that the strict rules of haiku no longer take effect. Haiku is poetry, poetry is the voice of the soul of another. There are no rules. There are styles you have to keep in mind, if only to make your haiku sound good, but otherwise, rules are taken only lightly. And, no, there is no strict 5-7-5 syllable rule.
