09/21/2001 Entry: "Laptop Trade"
So, my computer is now at Laptop Central, so I'm at the library using the computers here.
I did some research on what my system could sell for -- I'll tell you what I found below. I talked with Val a bit today. She didn't have that great a night. I hope that her day gets better. I am in love with her so deep, and I pray every night that as I grow closer to Jesus, I shall therefore grow closer to Val, but not more so. I think that's the healthiest. Plus, I read something earlier today about the real secret to a long lasting relationship, and I believe my relationship with Christ is very important.
About that system I found, a 500MHz Celeron, 64mb PC-100 ram, 6.4gb hard drive, 8MB AGP Video card, 40x CDRom, with Windows NT installed can be purchased on the internet for $1760.00. Honestly, that's a bit of a ripoff, but there was also a 550MHz Pentium III, 64mb PC-133 Ram, CDRW/DVD Combo, 15gb hard drive available (at a different web site) for $1125.00. This is a more accurate price for a system.
As for laptops that I found, an IBM Thinkpad 600 which is Pentium II/233MHz, 192mb ram, 1024x768x16bit video, 13.3 inch viewable, 4gb hard drive, 24x cdrom, and 56k modem can be had for $599.00, and a 266MHz, 5.1gb hard drive (rest of the specs are similiar) for $569.00. So, I can be certain to receive a good price on a laptop -- or plenty of money back. I can only assume that the guy at Laptop Central would give me more of a deal on a system trade in, rather than me just selling a system.
I gotta get off this computer. Until next time, VAL I LOVE YOU!
