10/18/2001 Entry: "Hidden Genius"

It's Odd... though Jo-Ann has all the book smarts, all the artistic talent, and all the budget/balance skills, I've only received good advice from Josh. It's odd too -- he loses the casual swears, he loses the odd behaviour, and I hear the voice of a great teacher, a noble leader, and a knowledgable reverend. And, you'd NEVER guess the pure genius that he comes up with.

I had a short, brief talk about Valerie with him, and I've gained so much strength and knowledge from him. Though, most of our conversation was around life and Josh/Jo-Ann situation. Life...

The talk was good, because I was holding on to so much anxiety about Val. I'd of talked with Valerie about Valerie, but 1. Valerie wasn't here. I get the most out of a very personable conversation, and 2. Valerie is a girl (and an attractive, beautiful, graceful one at that) so it's difficult to talk about the grease at the bottom of every man's stomach with something so graceful and feminine.

Josh knew that 1. I had been crying for length. 2. I was feeling inadequet at helping Valerie, and 3. I wasn't feeling welcome here. He addressed, and 'fixed' all three. Josh may not know it, but I believe the Holy Spirit is so close to him. Like a child peering over one's shoulder, whispering in his ear.

I shall have a good night tonight, though in the nights coming, they may not be so good -- Val got a call from Guelph. She's going to an establishment there for two-to-four months. I'll miss her dearly.
