02/10/2002 Entry: "Pay It Forward"
I watched the movie "Pay It Forward" with Kevin Spacey, Helen Hunt, and that talented young actor you've probably seen in that "I see dead people!" movie.
Anyway, if you haven't seen it, the concept is that, basically, the world is shit. But, if all of us can do three big favors for three people (one each), something that they cannot do themselves. Instead of paying back the original person, those three people do three big favors for three other people. That adds up quick.
I was thinking of how God has started a "pay it forward" concept, and how from that, we could have a perfect world...
... You see, God has started the Pay It Forward concept, by giving and sacrificing his only begotten son for all of us, so that we may be saved. This is something we cannot do for ourselves.
Now, through Christ, if we each did at least three big favors for three other people, much in the same way God did for us, wouldn't that add up to a lot too? Shouldn't we all, as believers, feel obligated to Pay It Forward? And, wouldn't it feel nice if those three big favors we did for those three people, were to lead them to Life In Christ, so that they could lead three other people to Life In Christ? Instead of just living the Godly Lifestyle, couldn't we all lead each other to God in this way?
