02/19/2002 Entry: "Dates with Val"

It makes me so happy that Val is back! Her and I are picking up the friendship that we left before she left, some of the affection is still there, but in terms of devotion and dependance, things are most certainly going to be different. With The Lords help, things will be the best they can be.
Val and I went on a few "dates" so far; click for details...

Last night was a lot of fun. We started the evening before we even knew it -- Val had sent me an e-mail earlier in the day, telling me to contact her and tell her how to contact me. Well... I didn't get the message, but around the same time she sent me that message, I called her cell phone and left my contact information, hoping that she would contact me. She did!!
I showed her my new apartment a bit, and we went off to a place at the Forks for some drinks. They were interesting!! Then, it's off to Maxime's for some delicious dinner, though for the most part, either her or I were away from the table for one reason or another. If anyone was watching, they would think that was weird.
Afterwards, it was off to Cinema City 8 to watch "Domestic Disturbance" with John Travolta. It's apparently based on the Jack The Ripper book/movie. It was kind of scary... but all the action happened in the last 20 minutes, so it was over too quick. It did make me think I was an exhusband to Kristie though, and John's character's attitude towards his ex-wife's new husband were much of my thoughts towards Kristie's latest love interest. Sort of. Kristie's love interest is not a killer.
We then stopped at Perkin's (our first date!!), but decided it was time for music and fun, not quiet and talk. So across the street was Celebration's... which was closed. So, quiet time at Aaltos was the plan. We inquired about the deep-fried ice cream -- it did not sound too appealing. So, we ordered 2 Senior-discount coffee's. The way Val sounded when she made the order just started a good fifteen minutes of laughter. And, we did get the coffees!! We left having left a tip more than the price of the coffees.

What a memoriable day!

A week or so ago, we had a few drinks and a bit to eat at Grapes. We had a great opportunity to talk a bit about how we both are feeling. We then proceeded to the Theatre, were we saw "I am Sam", which is a very good movie and moved us both. We then had coffee at a small pub nearby and talked a LOT more and I really felt the affection we have for each other growing again.
