03/20/2002 Entry: "Converting The Bible"

I've undertaken the task of converting source files from the NIV Text of The Holy Bible to Palm Bible Reader, my favorite Bible Reader for the Palm.
I'm using TextPipe Pro to strip the chapter and verse numbers, and convert them to the format the Palm Reader Bible Converting Program requires, to convert the altered text to the Palm Format suitable for display.
I believe this is a great task for me to do!

It's a feeling of knowing how you can serve God with the skills you have. I've got the computer skills and computer science skills (required to design the correct filter, otherwise the whole source text is lost)
Once I've perfected the filter, work will progress much faster -- right now I'm done all of Matthew, and have the rest of the New Testiment and all of the Old Testiment to do. I'm hoping my filter is complete by the time I get to the old testiment -- 140 chapters or more could get long.
