10/19/2002 Entry: "New Computer"
Well I have a new computer, again. However, I don't need to pay for it. It's for developing the website at HackedIndustries.ca. My pal Ian registered a trademark and company name with the Government. Which means that HackedIndustries.com, a domain registered by Nathaniel (another friend of mine) is in a little trouble if he does not let go of that domain name, or if he continues to make money under the "Hacked Industries" brand name.
The computer is as follows:
• Pentium 233 (REAL Pentium II. Which means it's faster than Celeron 300MHz)
• 64mb ram (enough to do web development.)
• 10x4x32 HP CD Burner (I've mentioned this before... I still have it)
• NetGear 10/100 NIC (better brand than Cicero, by far. No difficulties getting it installed... almost. That's another story...)
• Floppy Disk (with no floppy cable, AHHH)
• Zip100 Parellel Port Drive (carry-over from previous system again)
• 400mb Hard drive (UGH!)
• Gravis Ultrasound (Advanced Gravis) ISA (ugh again!)
• Trident SVGA (nice Nt 4.0 drivers... does more than the Win98 drivers, honest!)
It's running Windows NT 4.0 Workstation (my OS of choice for pre-500MHz systems) quite nicely. It'll be a good thing (tm) to have this. Definitly.
