12/07/2003 Entry: "God won't let me get drunk"

So the christmas party was today, and dispite all odds and 12 gin and limejuice drinks, I was still perfectly sober and only somewhat enjoying myself. It was great with Melissa; she was a little tipsy and as shy as she is, the drink always helps that situation. But me not being drunk kept me a little shy.

I did get a warm tight hug before she left, however, but she did get a ride home with a couple of guys, and my old friend Jealousy, whom hadn't been in my life since Val, came by a little, but Jesus kicked his butt.

I'm praying for her safety. I feel more confident to ask her out to coffee though!

On another note, Netscape 7.1 is cool...

I'm using Netscape 7.1 for Mac OS X, and the neat thing about that is, it's just one package to download. No install needed. Just like most macintosh apps, all the resources and files are kept in one package that doesn't break down into directories. So, technically, I can put the Netscape 'package' anywhere I want and run it, and it works perfectly (including Mail and AOL Messenger, and IRC chat.) This is thanks to PREFERENCE files (known as plist in Mac OS X) that are kept in my home directory, and perhaps a platform with an updated file system, unlike Windows XP or any OS before it, and most likely any OS after it. Longhorn does show some promise with their new filesystem... wait, i'm sorry. It's a filesystem layer that removes dependance on directories and files (so they say).

So although Netscape 7.1 starts up a little slow (on what platform does it not?), it works great on Mac OS X and i have no idea why it's not packaged with OS X, but Internet Explorer is. (IE on mac is better-build on the Mac, but it's not as good as Safari, nor Netscape 7.1)

That's the end of that.
