03/07/2004 Entry: "Val's Social"
So I went to Val's social today. It was a jolly good time, I danced a few, drank a few, flirted a bit. It's so good to see her so happy, and her soon-to-be husband is an extraordinary man, I would never have guessed, but knew that Val would find the best out there, and she has.
But weird thing, while I was on my way. Very ironic, in fact:
I met Sajid on my way to the social.
If I haven't mentioned Sajid on here before, then I'm not about to go into details. We'll just say this was about as ironic as things can get.
I didn't tell him about Val getting married. I don't know how he would take it, and besides it is none of his business, coming from me. The first thing he asked was, "how's val, do you talk to her at all, are you guys at least even friends?"
So that was interesting.
But... :'( I don't think I'm invited to the wedding reception at all.
Playing with Salling Clicker. It's neat stuff, it lets me remotely control my mac with my cellular phone. And I'm not talking cheap little tricks, I'm talking about controlling Powerpoint Slides (which I plan on using when I deliver the sermon), controlling iTunes and hey, even controlling the mouse's location and where it clicks. And I get feedback on the phone (like, the current iTunes song, the current iPhoto photo shown, slide notes from Powerpoint and the timing of the slides. Wow, neat stuff.
And, if i had a fancier, SymbianOS-based cellular, I can view the current Powerpoint Slide or iPhoto picture, amonst other things. This is one heck of a killer-app. I'm glad I got the Anycom Bluetooth dongle when I did. And it works great on the mac; i just plugged it in, and no software installation required. I even forgot that I received a cd-rom with the adapter. Thank You, Advance Electronics!!
