04/18/2004 Entry: "LaCie d2 burner"
I got a burner for the mac, finally. (I have too much music, you see..) It's a great thing, and when you've got a burner on a Macintosh, it's a REALLY great thing.
Firewire connection, so it was just plug it in and away you go. No drivers, no special packet drivers, no headaches as to what version of who's special Windows driver. It came with Roxio Toast Lite, but who cares?!? iTunes can backup my music (in CD Audio, Mp3, or iTunes Library format), iPhoto will backup my photos as a backup or slideshow, and the basic system software can backup my data cd's (mount a disc image to the desktop, drop files into that image, arrange to taste, then voila)
And it's 52x speed, so it's like, 1.5~2.0 minutes then BOOM, done! (on a full disc)
I may have paid a little too much for it; no no, i got it for a good price, but it's pricey for a burner that's for sure, and if I hadn't received extra money because of overtime the last two weeks on my paycheque, i would NOT be able to afford it.
I'm pinching pennies already, and it's not even the start of the week.
