Yes, it's a bold subject today. Reading up on Windows Longhorn (the wanna-be visually appealing operating system Microsoft is toying with trying to make work), this Ars-Technica article came across my browser (at lightning speeds, thanks to Safari). The recommended system requirements for Longhorn in it's final stages have been pondered to be about a dual-core CPU running at 4 to 6GHz; a minimum of 2 gigs of RAM; up to a terabyte of storage; and other things.
Hmm. And my OS X 10.3 runs on this 400MHz with 128mb RAM and a 10GB hard drive quite nicely. And it's even FASTER than OS X 10.2 was, on this very same hardware. And the eye candy is astounding.
I'm glad I'm out of the Windows computer race. Now, I just need to get myself a nicer Mac. [more]
